Reflection on Learning Acquired

My experience has been varied, yet each role I have undertaken has contributed to the knowledge and understanding I am able to bring to my present role as Programme Developer at EMTC.  I have acquired a range of learning - from the corporate world, through to the business world, and finally coalescing in the sphere of education.   I have had the privilege of gaining input from experienced mentors and influencers that have helped shape my values and expand my outlook.

Each new experience and opportunity to put into practice what I have learnt has built towards forming a philosophy of teaching and learning that incorporates both knowledge and praxis.   From my early days of teaching new computer programmes to other administration staff by letting them do it for themselves, through to redeveloping EMTC’s level 5 Diploma utilising a work-integrated learning model (Case Study 1), integration of knowledge with practice has been a hallmark of each educational opportunity I have encountered.  In fact, I found I became very frustrated while studying when I had limited opportunities to share what I was learning with others.
